So much right now. I had these lovely intentions of blogging about metaphors behind jade circles (bracelets, in particular), saving up for a house and a fancy new computer, and shout-outs to my new intern, but oops–life gobbled all of that up.
Instead, here are some shorties.
From one of my favorite Crafter Blogs, I discovered this idea of the Sacred Six, or as I like to call it, Staying On Top of Your Shit. Our days, no doubt, are teeming with distraction, and I, that always super-focused person (right), am always happy to find ways to streamline the chaos. The Sacred Six. Work. Art. Home. Life. Certainly sounds more appealing than my pile of sticky notes fluttering out from my planner.
Here’s our postcard image so far! As I’ve mentioned, I am nervous and excited about our upcoming show. The guys and I decided on this title because we’re all working with different metaphors of surface and location/displacement, and “terrain” is vague enough to be conceptual as well as physical. Marty made an interesting observation that he and Andrew make very Boyish art–shapes, bright colors, hard lines, so it’ll be interesting to see all three of us in the same space. Postcards go to print this week!

Turns out, I rescued a cat-shaped dog.
Later this week, I am off to SF and Northern California to enjoy the pleasures of cheese, friends, art, ocean, and well, a much needed change of scenery. Off to make that Six List for the day…
